what have i got where do i find a recoil pad and how do i make it more accurate

not sure exactly what i've got. any information on where what when etc. would be appreciated

also, i've had shoulder replacement and am concerned about the recoil's effect on my shoulder. i've been unable to find recoil pads that will defiinitely fit and do the job. i saw one at classic firearms but it had no price or way to order it. it was appealing because it allowed access to the cleaning kit in the stock

finally, while it's probably me, i find the rifle inaccurate. i'm wondering what i can have done to improve its accuracy--not by me! want the gun to work afterward. :)

thanks for any help you can offer

I installed the one above, for me its sufficiant
@notthemama ...

I was completely kidding about 922... it's the biggest BS sham in existence IMO, and nobody gives two shits if we're being honest. All that aside, your riffle is literally #922. The dust cover and I'd assume other parts are stamped w/ this taboo #... It's just ironic, that's all.

looks like exactly what i'm looking for! haven't been able to find it yet. can't copy/paste without image and search engines/translators apparently want the umlaut and S thing (i was taught to substitute 2 ss's)

where did you get it?
Since your barrel is not threaded you would likely need to go to a 1/2x28 brake - after threading your barrel obviously. I can’t remember which ones had too little material to thread to a standard AK pattern but IRC most of the post ban guys used a 1/2x28 die and an appropriate compensator. Most AR pattern rifles use this thread pitch but for the love of God don’t use an AR type brake chambered for a 5.56mm round. You can guess the result of a 7.62mm round trying to pass through a 5.56mm compensator. It isn’t pretty.
I bought the rubber buttstock recoil pad. Inexpensive but had to do a bit of fitment for my WASR. Since it adds depth for cleaning kit inside the buttstock I need to use a small nail or screw driver. I can do it my finger but need to be careful because of spring door.

looks like i need a knowledgable gunsmith to add a brake. doesn't seem to be much room for threads. we'll see. thanks!
.
regarding 922r,how would i check the serial number for compliance? while i assume the ffl had verified it, it would be nice to confirm it.
the muzzle is not threaded for a brake. i assume i'd need a gunsmith to install a brake, given my vast handyman skills
Compliance with 922(r) is only for the person modifying a long gun. If you bought one that is not in compliance you have nothing to worry about unless ATF redefines "shall not be infringed" again. That said, if you thread the barrel and add in imported brake, and that puts you over the 10 imported parts limit, the second that brake touches the threads all your windows will explode with giant men in black suits flying in, your front door will explode with more men in black entering. Your lawn will be torn up by dozens of Black Blazers and the sky will be filled with black helicopters.

Or most likely nothing will happen. But again I will say for those of the government reading this, I in no way advocate the willful violation of any law, no matter how stupid or unconstitutional or in this case, both.

My WASR has all of 922(r) parts for the FCG, gas piston, etc. I am not going to change anything out except when something breaks or wears out. Then I will buy made in the USA parts to comply with 922(r) parts.

Welcome to the forum!
Dont expect AR accuracy from an AK, but the AK is plenty accurate for what it was designed for. Might want to take out that cleaning rod that you have sticking out under your rifle. The gas block and front sight base are post ban and are not securing it properly. Also make sure your rifle is sighted in properly.

Make sure bench group the rifle and u properly zero the weapon. Never going to be AR accurate...but if you zero and practice with that weapon and know how it shoots...the target doesn't care if ur an inch or 2 off..nor will a human being within its effective range. The rifle was made to hit a man size target effectively at 400 meters not poke holes in paper. Spend 20 bucks on a front sight tool and zero it. 100000000 plus users can't all be wrong. I got a couple that are pretty damn accurate and a few that will scare the shit out of an trespasser at 100 yds lol

going to put the recoil pad on that i got from Tacfun and see when i can get to the range with it.
thats a late kbi sa85m with the amd65 length custom factory gas tube fitted barrel. not super collectable due to being harder to do clones on than standard akm barrel.

accuracy can be improved by upgrading to a decent 2 stage trigger and tightening the rear sight side to side play if loose. front sight post can be swapped with a hand select one or kns precision if it helps any.
