RUGER MINI 30

This is a Ruger Mini-30.
It shoots the same ammunition as an ak47. This gun was introduced in 1973 and has been widely available ever since. It accepts high capacity detachable magazines and fires in semi-auto fashion.

Back when Walmart and most hardware stores carried guns This rifle was almost always present on the shelf.

These weapons have been common and popular in America long before school shootings started happening.

The availability of guns is not causing people to commit murder. Guns have always been easy to get here. Politicians pushing gun grab laws are selling fear, but they are not solving problems
needed $800 for it thanks

The first gun I ever bought was a 10/22, still have it, at least 50k rounds. I was 14 (confirmation present to myself) Still works great. I had my gunsmith go through it, fixed the trigger (NOS) it is ready for squirrels again. I bought a Mini 14 about 5 years later... fantastic lil rifle, perfect for jack rabbits in SW MN, and SE South Dakota. Coyotes too, but I would just chase them down with a pu then pop em with my 22 pistol

I bought a Henry Survival rifle about 3 or 4 months ago, I havent even shot it yet.
I just bought my second 10/22 today. I’ve had a takedown since they came out. I stopped at my LGS this morning and he had a 10/22 with the M1 carbine tribute stock. Couldn’t resist so it came home with me.
I also have the 10/22 M1 carbine "Tribute". Peep sight and pic rail. That thing is just great to plink with.

Was making a joke with a little experience , I never have fired a mini 30. I did however jones for a mini 14 for 20 years. About 10 years ago I finally got a mini 14. I have never been as disappointed in a rifle more than that mini 14, looked like Tarzan plaid like Jane. I traded the mini 14 away 8 days after buying it.
Not sure what the issue was with yours but mine has been a tack driver. I have a later 58x prefix rifle with a thicker barrel. Granted it's not made for speedy mag changes but I do enjoy shooting a classic battle rifle config now and then.

I always thought the mini30 was was old "Assault Weapon Ban" supporting Bill Ruger's bad attempt to mainstream the even poorer attempt he made with the mini14, by making use of the cheap import ammo. I did not care for the prices or minute of barn side accuracy on them back then or now. Never saw a reason to buy either the 30 or 14 over a quality AK or AR then or now. I can accept that maybe things have changed.

I have a small spot in my collection for Ruger. I have some die hard Ruger friends and have shot most of what they make. Loved my Ruger old school Vaquero in .45 Colt. Even the old beefy P-89 was a good but large 9mm pistol. Ruger's MK whatever .22 pistols were good for their time too. After a new stock, trigger job and bedding I have been impressed with M-77s in .260 and 7mm Mag at distance and on game. Yeah, I got my flame suit handy.

With so many period and modern options, I have not bought a Ruger in ten plus years. No need.

At some point I want to build up a custom .22lr semi on an aftermarket 10/22 receiver, but it's not a factory Ruger.

I don’t know if you are aware:

Volquartsen makes Ruger 10/22 parts and a 10/22 rifle copy.

Thompson/Center makes a 10/22 copy also.
