Look what I made - World map of AK factories

Look what I made for my cartography class:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie ... 44&t=h&z=3

(on the map page, read the description on the left side of the screen)

Let me know what everyone thinks. (I realize that it isn't 100% perfect, but nothing really is)

I give all of the credit to my AK forum brethren, from whom I have learned so much.

Holy cow that is cool, but got me thinking you must have way to much time on your hands
It is for a college course I am taking, so I had to do it, plus I got to look through a whole bunch of AK pictures in class!

P.S. - I just added Century Arms to the mix, I can't believe I forgot them.

It looks like you might have left off the CUGIR factory, though.
Nope, its on there but I wasn't able to find the actual factory.

If you are including IMI, why not Vektor (currently Denel Land Systems) in South Africa? They made the R4 galil variant, which is kinda sorta an AK.....
Do you know what city it was produced in? I'll add it to the map when I get a chance.

you are missing at least three maybe 4 or 5 african countries.
I know there are a few more that made AKs, but I really couldn't find any good info at all about them, plus they were never made in any great quantities to be widely recognizable.

Don't forget Wiselite Arms, also.
If you can post their address, I'll add them too.

Bread, thats very cool, I'll assume your teacher must be also.
She is an air-headed, anti-gun preaching, obama-ite from texas, so no, not very cool, but still not a bad person. Her style of teaching is unique to say the least, but I learned a lot from her class nonetheless.

I'd like to make it a sticky, I'm just not sure where to put it.
Why not here in general discussion or in the reference section?

Found where they are located and added it to the map.

If anyone else knows of something that this map might be missing, please don't hesitate to let me know!

Edit:
Also added Nigeria (need a pic of this rifle).
Once again, thanks go to all. I see this project as sort of a team effort.

Originally, I wanted to use only pics of military (or deactivated) AKs, but some of the examples that were posted by members of their own guns were just better to illustrate the point. I hope no one minds.
