Welcome to the group!

The only Norinco AK/AKMs that had date codes were MAK-90s in 1993 and 1994 with a handful of 1992. There were some Poly Techs with a probable 1985 and 1987 due to serial number marking style.

Other than those, the pre-Bush1-Ban rifles are all mid 1980s to 1989. A few like Clayco Imports can be guessed to be 1984 builds, but other than those, very few importers put date codes on, or kept public available records to date their rifles.

Give us a little more info to go by.
*Importer.
*Serial number prefix. The factory 66 guns all had a serial number prefix such as 10 through 60 then the serial number. Personally I believe the 10 serial number prefix guns are early importation, and the 60 are later.
*Caliber.
